Request for Grant Proposals
On December 11, 2025 The Region M Waste Management District approved to announce the FY2027 (July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027) grant round, an opportunity for the funding of waste reduction and recycling projects of local governments, businesses, and other entities. Region M supports efforts to reduce the volume of solid waste entering landfills. Eligible activities include waste reduction, recycling, collection and processing of recyclables, composting, recycling market development, and public education regarding recycling and environmental activities. Applicants must be located within the District's five counties of Barton, Jasper, McDonald, Newton, and Vernon. Region M will not accept applications from any entities located outside of the District.
Application and other pertinent informational documents are available at https://www.regionm.org/grants, or by request at the contact information listed below.
Applicants must participate in a grantee workshop prior to submitting the final application. Participants should arrive on time. Please contact Region M to sign up for one of the following:
• Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at 1:00 pm
• Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Noon
• Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11:00 am
• Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at 10:00 am
Final applications must be received prior to 12:00 pm (noon) Friday, February 20, 2026 to be considered for funding. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
